Jenny’s projected expenses for 2026:
- HOME: R14 300
- MEDICAL : R4 200 (PROCEDURES AND MEDICATION THAT MEDICAL AID WON’T COVER: CREAMS, CATHETER BAGS, STOMA EQUIPMENT. THE COST HAS GONE UP IN THE LAST YEAR AND SOME MEDS ARE INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT TO SOURCE )
- NAPPIES : R1 500
- UNEXPECTED EXPENSES: CAN BE COVERED BY THE EXTRA MONEY RAISED IN 2024.
(ALL FIGURES REFLECT EXPENSES ON A MONTHLY BASIS.)
Total:
R 20 000 (ca. 1 026 €) per month or
R 240 000 (ca. 12 310 €) for the year Dec 2025 – Nov. 2026.
This year, due to the extra money raised last year, our ever expanding base of regular supporters, money paid into the account outside the fundraiser and a favourable exchange rate – for the first time ever – we have enough money together to cover Jenny’s costs in 2026 without a further fundraiser! THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE WHO HAS MADE THIS A REALITY!!
For those of you interested in how our fundraisers normally work, here’s a quick explanation:
HOW we raise money:
No single person could cover all of these expenses. But since 2015, we’ve been building a base of regular sponsors, who contribute small amounts every month (limited to one year – though many choose to carry on) – and all of those add up to keep Jenny going financially. On top of that, we do a fundraiser every year in November.
But beside the monthly contributions, one-off donations of ANY AMOUNT, no matter how small, are greatly appreciated. Jenny has been sustained these past few years by big and small contributions made by wonderful, caring people. All of these add up, and Jenny wants to THANK EVERYONE for them!!!

FINANCIAL INFO ABOUT PREVIOUS FUNDRAISERS
INFO FOR THE 2024/2025 FUNDRAISER.
By 30.11.2024 we wanted to raise R 45 000 (ca. 2 420 €)
Amazingly, we completely overshot the goal! Our amazing sponsors contributed R 59 975 (ca. 3 225 €)
This was made up of:
R744 (40€) per month in new regular contributions.
R 51 047 (2 745€) in one-off donations.
We offered to pay the excess money back to our sponsors, but nobody wanted that. They thought it was good if Jenny held on to the funds in case of emergency, or towards the next fundraiser.

We raised a total of R 64 220 (around 3 500 € at the time):
– new monthly pledges of R 110 a month (R1 320 for the year)
– one-off contributions amounting to R 62 900
This was slightly MORE than our goal (which was to raise R 63 360). The extra cash was a blessing because inflation was soaring and we just didn’t know what to expect. – monthly pledges of R 450 a month (R5 400 for the year)
– one-off contributions amounting to R 42 775
This was actually MORE than our goal (which was to raise R 45 960). The extra cash has served as a safety net in case of medical emergencies, and to deal with surging expenses.

– one-off contributions amounting to R 32 100
This was actually MORE than our goal (which was to raise R 66 000). The extra cash allowed Jenny to take care of some computer investments she’d been putting off for a long time.

This was 88% of our goal – and even more money came in after the end of the fundraiser.
